Cold Toes?

Got Cold Toes?

You can warm them up on me! I'm warm and fuzzy and right here by the floor.
Or you can use the woodstove, if you want.
Its really pretty outside, but soooooo cold.
I'm heading inside. Save a spot by the woodstove for ME!

New Dog to Chase

I have a new dog to chase, but he doesn't seem to like me. Hmmmmm. Mystery breed? (I offered him a bone but he was a snob about it)

Oh well, maybe a bit more barking at him and nipping at his heels will bring him around.

Just for Today, Lord

I'd like to be able to fly. With wings. To get up high, like in trees and stuff.

And it has nothing to do with this.

or this

or even this mocking face here

Nope. I just want to get up in the tree, Lord, to be able to survey the beauty of your creation from on high.

(and while you are granting my wishes, can I see that squirrel I've been chasing for weeks up close too?)

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

The weirdest thing happened this week. I am still trying to figure it out! The lawn outside my door just disappeared. I mean, its gone Baby! I went to bed one night with it all nice and green outside like normal. I know because I chased Pluto all over it, and the horses were out grazing on it, (and of course I chased them too!)

Then, in the morning...mom let me out the door and WHOA....I stopped in shock! Everything was white and WEIRD. Cold too. Kind of fluffy and it melted on my nose when I breathed on it. I took a few steps, and it left tracks! And it moved under my feet! I tried to chase a few flakes, and it moved even more. So I ran around and around trying to get it all and trying to make it stop moving. It was actually pretty fun, and I didn't want to stop playing at all. When I got tired and layed down, my belly felt like I was laying on a bunch of icecream. So I jumped up and it all started again with the chasing, running, melting, breathing, until I was one wet tired pup.

When I headed inside, another surprise! Mom put a gate up so that now I have to stop and wipe my paws and get all dried off before I can go into the rest of the house. Sheeesh. Doncha like big snowballs all over the living room, making puddles for you to get wet socks in? (Mom hates hates hates wet socks)

Its going to be a fun winter for me, and a looooooong winter for her.

Its a Bird, Its a Plane,

Nah, its just me. A small Corgi blur leaping over a log over and over. That is just how I roll.

What are YOU looking at?

Boo!

Me and You and a Dog named Boo....isn't that a song or something?

Well, I have a new puppy buddy named Boo. We have lots of fun while Penelope has riding lessons. Mom only gets me out of the car if the big bad dogs are not there. One is a Karelian Bear dog (anything with "bear" in it must be scary ) and the other is a waaaay tough German Shepard. But they were not at the arena this time, so I got out and was able to play! I am not sure what Boo is, but she is way cute and TONS of fun!

See that big horse? Totally almost trampled me. (what do you mean I should not have raced circles around its hooves while it was trotting around??)

Yeah, I am definitely winning here. No really, I am!

When we got tired of wrestling, we ran all over the farm and chased chickens, ponies, and even an ornery little goat. It was a blast. Guess you could say Boo is a bad influence on me. I love it!

Falling in Love with Fall

You know this is my first fall, right? First ever? And I l love it. I really love it! I cannot get over how cool it is to watch all those leaves just ker-plunk...fall out of the trees! I love to chase them. So does Pluto.

I have gone on a lot of walks out in the woods. I try to eat the berries and sticks when I am not chasing leaves.

I'm kind of hard to see, since I blend right in to the colorful woods.

I love the lake in the fall too. I mean, just look at the view out there!

Hey, no fair! Notice I have my leash on in this picture. That's because we are at the park. I promised I would not wander far (no further than the next town anyway) but mom was not buying it. Rats.

Speaking of mom, she grabbed me and held me onto me for this one. I looked every direction but at the camera. I even tried barking at an imaginary squirrel in the trees. Finally, Penelope got behind Chena, who had the camera, and made the silliest faces, I could not help but pay attention.

I definitely earned that big bone and the catnip mice she paid me off with later. (I know, I know, the catnip mouse was for the cat....I was just seeing if you were paying any attention)

Hotel Living!

Yeah, that's right. I am the only dog I know with room service.

I got to go to Anchorage and stay in a hotel! I was not too sure what I thought of it at first. Had to go and check everything out.

Lots of stuff going on out on the street. People thinking they could walk right by me on the sidewalk, and outrageous things like that without me barking at them. Not gonna happen.
Even in the room, I was watching my territory. The parking lot is safe with me on duty!
I was a bit worried about my everyday comforts. But turns out, my food and food dish came along. Phew.
I liked rolling around on the bed, but Mom didn't really want me to eat the bedspread. Spoilsport.
I was starting to get bored, but then they turned on Clifford. I love me some big red dog. If I was barking at him it was only in a friendly me-d0g-you-d0g-too kind of way. If I woke up other people in the hotel, well it was time for them to get up and watch cartoons anyway.
One of my favorite things was trying to wake up Penelope in the morning.
I said tried!
Oh well, if you can't beat them, join them I always say.
Can you guys run down to breakfast and bring us back some bacon?!?

Just Sitting On The Couch

I'm just sitting on the couch, minding my own business. Listening to everyone yipping and yelping about some speech on tv. I was laying over there for awhile, but they said I was being distracting. All I did was bite a few toes that were hanging down from the recliner, try to knock over a lamp, zoom under the mother-in-law visiting from Washington's legs, and try to eat a wooden magazine rack. Thats it.

So anyway, I guess this speech is a big deal. Personally I really don't care about politics. Everyone has their own idea about who is right and who is wrong and I refuse to give my opinion or get involved.

Sand in my Toes

We went to the beach and it was FUN!

I did a lot of digging. I have heard a lot about buried treasure, and I wanted to find some.

Do you call old fish bones treasure? I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Score!

At first, mom tied me up and I had to watch all the kids playing and swimming in the creek. They were getting crazy, I tell ya.

Stuff like this!

I was thinking it might be safer to watch from a distance. But, after a while, it was just too much for me. I wanted to be a bit closer to the action!

One time I even dove right in and swam around, while the maniac kids were having a huge water fight right around me! I headed for shore, so I could watch from there. Then I just ran back and forth, back and forth, kind of like a super-hero-turbo-life-guard-ready-to-save-lives-or-just-bark-a-lot sort of dog. I'm there for ya.
When I got home, I slept on my sheepskin in the living room for three solid hours. Being a super hero is tiring work!

Playing in the Hay

What is THIS stuff?

I don't know what I'm doing up here! Hey girls?

I know that horses like this, but I tried it and can't say its growing on me. It is, however, stuck ON me. I keep chasing it and end up falling in the holes between the bales.

Its kind of cozy up here though, and the girls like to play out here a lot.
Guess I will just keep hanging out with them, and maybe it will become my new favorite spot too. Right, Penelope?
